The Church of San Miguel Arcángel is located on Calle Iglesia; it was built in 1505 on the site of the former mosque as a branch of the church in Monda. Over time, like many others, it underwent numerous renovations that gave it its current appearance.
It has a Latin cross plan and a single nave. The entrance is located on its façade and consists of a semicircular arch flanked by pilasters, above which rests a balcony topped by a niche containing the image of its patron saint, Saint Michael. To the right stands the bell tower, which has a square floor plan and consists of three sections; the second section houses the traditional clock, and in the top section, the bells are visible beneath semicircular arches. On the façade, at the level of the second floor, some remnants of decorative wall paintings can be seen where the plaster has worn away.
Inside, its single nave is covered by a restored truss of pairs and rows with a gable roof. The transept has a hipped roof, while the side aisles have single-sloped roofs. The apse features three niches separated by fluted columns, with the central one being slightly larger.
In this church, the images of Saint Sebastian and the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception—the town’s patron saints—are venerated, along with others that are the object of great devotion, such as the Virgin of Carmen.
Outside, next to the left arm, stands the War Memorial, making it one of the few towns that still have this monument.
