Casarabonela
Casarabonela is located in the Sierra de las Nieves mountain range, a short distance from Málaga, the Costa del Sol, Antequera, Ronda, and Marbella. Its location makes it an ideal base for exploring nature, the white villages, and the landscapes of inland Málaga.
Tajo San Francisco Trail
The Tajo San Francisco trail begins next to the Hermitage of Santo Cristo and ascends along ancient paths used by locals to access the resources of the mountains. Along the way, you can enjoy views of the Guadalhorce Valley, the Sierra de Alcaparaín, the Turón River valley, and the Serranía de Ronda mountain range. The trail culminates at the Tajo San Francisco, a spectacular natural viewpoint linked to an old local legend about Saint Francis of Paola, the patron saint of Casarabonela.
Tajo San Francisco
Located on the north face of the Cruz Alta Comparate public mountain, Tajo San Francisco offers one of the most unique panoramic views of the surrounding area. From this natural outcrop, you can see the Dehesa, the Atalaya, the Sierra de Alcaparaín, and the Turón River valley.
The trail climbs gradually through mountainous landscapes until it reaches the Collado de San Francisco. Along the way, views open up of the Guadalhorce Valley, the Sierra de Alcaparaín, the Turón River Valley, and the Serranía de Ronda.
The route ends at Tajo San Francisco, a spectacular natural outcrop linked to an ancient local legend about Saint Francis of Paola, the patron saint of Casarabonela.
