La Fuentezuela, Guaro

Ver galería

This fountain is located on Calle Parras and has been so extensively remodeled that it has lost all traces of its 18th-century appearance. It gave its name to a small stream that runs alongside it, flowing down from the nearby mountain range and which is now covered by a culvert.

It consists of an elongated pillar from which two spouts pour water into the basin; these spouts are adorned with ceramic lion heads. The fountain is covered with ceramic tiles decorated with geometric patterns and features two marble plaques at its head that refer to its various renovations and the other name by which it was known: the Fuente Nueva.
