This route, which begins in the town of Yunquera and ends at the Los Sauces recreational area, offers a comprehensive look at the reforested pine forests that line the northeastern slope of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park massif, all through a leisurely walk.

Route itinerary

Starting from the Arbolitos de Yunquera recreation area, the route begins by climbing through olive groves and chestnut trees. We then ascend the Arca ravine beneath a vast Aleppo pine forest until we reach the Cueva del Agua forest trail. We continue along an easy trail through limestone cliffs, which gradually opens up to views of the old convent of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves. We finish by descending the Cañada de la Encina, where we’ll find remnants of old mining activity, to reach Los Sauces, a peaceful spot for relaxation where the route ends.
