These water infrastructure systems are a good example of how the Andalusians, the Moriscos, and later the Castilians took advantage of the possibilities offered by this natural resource to create irrigated areas and design a type of agricultural landscape defined by the central role of water. Among the numerous irrigation channels that crisscross the town, we highlight the “Acequia del Chorro,” which originates at the headwaters of the Molinos River.
