This large stone archway, consisting of three sections—all horseshoe-shaped, with the central section larger than the two side sections—was built in the mid-20th century to commemorate the town’s Al-Andalus heritage, becoming the entrance gateway to the historic center of the town of Alozaina; which was awarded first prize in the provincial beautification contest in 1976 and received the First National Prize for Tourism, Beautification, and Improvement of Spain’s Towns in 1977.
