It is housed in the Mondragón Palace, also known as the Palace of the Marquis of Villasierra, a monumental civil building dating back to the 14th century, in which different architectural styles blend harmoniously. Its purpose is to showcase the history of Ronda and its surrounding region, which is vast.
To this end, it is organized into several areas, namely: exhibitions, research, and services. In the exhibition area, there is a space dedicated to Ronda’s rich archaeological heritage, featuring artifacts of incalculable value; a space showcasing the most representative examples of ethnographic artifacts and local folk traditions, such as cork craftsmanship and saddlery…; and, finally, a space focused on the natural environment of the Serranía de Ronda, highlighted by the Sierra de las Nieves National Park, the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, and the Alcornocales Natural Park.
The research area houses the restoration and research workshops, while the services area features a cafeteria, a gift shop, a multipurpose room, a library, and more…
