The vineyards, wine presses, and must (a type of young wine known by this name in southwestern Spain) are one of Yunquera’s defining cultural characteristics.
At its facilities, visitors can sample both the grape must and the rich local cuisine, as it is a historic wine press that has been restored and converted into a bar-museum, where visitors can see, in situ, elements typical of this type of facility, as well as other period utensils and artifacts; Since a “lagar” refers to the container, apparatus, vat, trough, large tub, or primitive press where the grapes are crushed, the term is also used, by extension, to refer to the building housing the press and the space it occupies.
