The Mirador de las Parteras in El Burgo, built in 2024, serves as a well-deserved tribute to rural women, specifically midwives—those women who, in the absence of medical resources, traditionally assisted the village women during childbirth. Their work was of paramount importance.
This lookout point is located on the outskirts of the village and can be reached from the town center via a promenade that crosses the Turón River over the Puente Viejo. From this vantage point, it offers a postcard-perfect view that combines El Burgo Castle—built during the Al-Andalus period and beautifully integrated into the village—with the Turón River as it flows through the town, a source of life surrounded by a spectacular riverside forest.
