This is a very popular route, frequented by both Tolox residents and visitors. It follows a path that climbs to a prominent hill, offering magnificent panoramic views of the town, the Guadalhorce Valley, and the Sierra de Tolox, the main mountain range of the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park. Along the way, we’ll discover the 14 iron crosses of a Sacramental Way of the Cross. Given the steep incline and the fact that older people also use the trail, there are numerous iron benches where hikers can rest. The surrounding landscape consists of farmland, dominated by tree crops: olive and almond trees; carob trees are also abundant.
The Cruz del Padre Ventura trail climbs to a hilltop overlooking the village, the Guadalhorce Valley, and the Sierra de Tolox. Along the way, you’ll come across the 14 iron crosses of the Stations of the Cross.
