Ricardo Dávila was born in Puebla de Caramiñal (La Coruña) in 1943. He has worked with various materials, such as stone and wood (chestnut and olive). In the Genal Valley, he uses cork as his raw material, and his works “are related to the social life of the village and the agricultural work involved in chestnut cultivation”; he seeks to integrate his art with the local communities and their natural surroundings, combining art and landscape to offer visitors a new tourist attraction.
