The route starts at the Casa de la Juventud lookout point, in the northern part of Istán, and winds down through orchards until it crosses the Molinos River, a tributary of the Verde River. After the bridge, the path climbs alongside a private estate, passes by farmyards, and reaches the ruins of an old threshing floor.

The route continues along the Istán trail to La Gallega, crosses the Luis Creek, and reaches the La Gallega Pass, which offers great views of the surrounding area. To take in an even wider panorama, you can climb a few meters up to Las Herrizas de la Gallega.

The return trip follows the Molinos Trail, descending between irrigation ditches to the Molinos River. In this area, there are still old mills, some of which have been restored. After crossing the river again, the trail joins the original path to return to the starting point.
