Viewpoints

The rugged terrain of the Sierra de las Nieves World Biosphere Reserve, the diversity of its soils, the variety of its ecosystems and vegetation—together with human activity—have given rise to a series of unique landscapes where the beauty of its natural spaces, its momentous history, and the traces of human activity over millennia are interwoven.

Landscapes are like skin weathered by the passage of time. They are living entities that change over time, in response to the climate, weather conditions, and, to a large extent, human activity.

As a result, mountains, valleys, rivers, white villages, and agricultural landscapes can be admired and enjoyed from various natural and man-made viewpoints that offer unique panoramic views. It’s worth taking the time to stop and carefully admire the elegant flight of birds of prey over the mountains, the lush riverside landscapes, the bustling white villages, the irrigated farmland with its irrigation channels, crops, and mills… …gaining an appreciation for the immense natural and cultural treasures this region holds and, of course, enjoying them with all your senses.
