Vaults of City Hall, Monda

Ver galería

Its origins lie in the construction, in the second half of the 19th century, of a granary (storage facility) for grains, primarily cereals. These granaries served a dual purpose: as a seed bank for farmers at the start of the planting season and as a guarantee of bread supply for the neighborhood during times of poor harvests or grain shortages. Later on, these buildings were also used as stables, a jail, and a warehouse.

Located on the ground floor of the Monda City Hall building, it is currently used for exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography, and crafts, as well as for other cultural activities related to the town’s community organizations.
