Monda is strategically located halfway between the Costa del Sol, the Guadalhorce Valley, and the Sierra de las Nieves. Its location on the slopes of Cerro de la Villeta, where its castle has been converted into a luxury hotel, gives the white village a picturesque, varied appearance, with numerous narrow streets and alleys. Here you’ll find fountains and washhouses, a few small chapels, and the Church of St. James the Apostle.
Its natural surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful, and we can explore them thanks to the numerous trails in the area, which lead to caves, orchards, and lush forests of pine and cork oak trees. Likewise, its traditional cuisine is incredibly rich, and a special place is held by the dish known as “sopa mondeña,” which is celebrated every April on Sopa Mondeña Day.
Monda is a lively town where a wide variety of activities take place throughout the year, with concerts, celebrations, and summer festivals being particularly notable.
