It is one of the most classic trails in Tolox, as it connects the town with the Virgen de las Nieves chapel, a pleasant recreational area surrounded by pine trees, with benches, tables, and fountains.
The trail runs alongside the Alfaguara River, also known as the Horcajos River. The first section follows a sandy path through orchards and terraced fields, featuring old water mills, a small bridge, and the Amargosa Spring, with its sulfur-rich waters. Further on, the route continues along a footpath next to an irrigation ditch, passing travertine formations, small pools, and the remains of old irrigation canals.
Along the entire route, you can enjoy views of vegetable gardens and fruit trees, such as orange and lemon trees, avocado trees, and other tropical species. The route ends at the Llanillos Pass, where you’ll find the chapel and the village’s water reservoir.
